House of the Virgin Mary
House of the Mary Mother is located on Mt Koressos, approximately 7 km’s from Ephesus, this small stone house is believed where the Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus, lived her final days. Saint John is believed to have brought the Virgin to here, before her Assumption.
The House of the Virgin Mary is a sacred site for both Christians and Muslims and is still in the care of the Lazarist Fathers, who celebrate Mass here every day.
On 15th of August (the Feast of the Assumption of Mary) each year, Catholic, Orthodox and Muslim clergy conduct a service together at the shrine, one of the rare occasions this happens anywhere.

There is no bus going to Virgin Mary’s house. You can take a taxi or we recommend you to go there by a Daily Ephesus Tour.
